Week 34 – NO SCHOLARSHIPS YET?!?!?

Week 34 – NO SCHOLARSHIPS YET?!?!:  235 DAYS … why?  (not so) Exceptional SC claims they have the funds on hand … but are waiting on schools to confirm enrollment?  Really? Nobody is buying that spin.

This only took 22 days to raise ALL the funds under independent non-profits (like in every other state) … and even though independent non-profits could not start fundraising until July 1st … scholarships were distributed IN FULL … 100% … BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED.

This is what happens when a 5 person legislatively appointed board … and the SC Department of Revenue … take over. Not “Bigger, Better, Faster.” as the “paid advocates” over at Palmetto Promise Institute said it would be.

What was the point of “Permanent Law”???  (not so) Exceptional SC and other monied “special interest” wanting to exclusively control this program told us “permanent law” would fix all these problem.  If they could just start fundraising and administering scholarships starting JANUARY 1ST everything would be better. Well, they got it … and NOTHING is different this year.  

#EmptyPromises!!!  Sure, we wanted permanent law too … but that was a distant 3rd on our list and only AFTER #1 Full Funding & #2 Independent Non-Profits.  S 131 / H 3202 fixes all this mess!!!  #DontBePlayed!!!
